Grant Programs

The Amir Kabir Foundation is an independent, U.S.-based private non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Persian language, literature, culture and civilization. We provide financial support to philanthropic causes through impactful educational, religious, and cultural programming.

We strive to meet our mission through 9 core program areas:

  • Grants to Colleges and Universities
  • Donations to Persian Schools
  • Donations for Disaster Relief Funds
  • Support for the Arts 
  • Scholarly Research 
  • Interfaith Dialogue and Religious Pluralism
  • Student Loans
  • Free Distribution of Islamic Books

Colleges and Universities

Grant Applicants must:

  • Establish a six-year matching funds program (preferably a tenure track position)
  • Submit quarterly progress reports to Amir Kabir Foundation
  • Fully comply with terms and conditions set by Amir Kabir Foundation in a prepared contract signed by both parties

Amir Kabir Foundation grants are renewed on a yearly basis and are dependent on positive progress reports. Generally, the Foundation’s grants do not cover overhead expenses.

Persian Schools

Grant Applicants must:

  • Be a not-for-profit corporation organized and in good standing under the laws of the state of incorporation
  • Provide a copy of a permanent tax-exempt status letter from the IRS
  • Make financial records available upon request
  • Manage and operate the school in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Have a minimum enrollment of 15 students

Disaster Relief

Aid Applicants must:

  • Submit a proposal to the Amir Kabir Foundation
  • Prove the project is managed by reputable national and/or international organization

Support for the Arts

Grant Applicants must submit a proposal to the Amir Kabir Foundation and show quality of work and significance to the Islamic and Persian arts.

Interfaith Dialogue

Grant Applicants must:

  • Submit a proposal to the Amir Kabir Foundation
  • Show the significance of the project in advancing the cause of religious pluralism and interfaith dialogue
